Shelter of Hope serves the FIVCO Region of Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Greenup, and Lawrence Counties by providing emergency, temporary housing with supportive services for individuals, families, and veterans who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless, and for whom no help is available from existing community resources.
Provisions are made without discrimination regardless of age, race, color, creed, religion, sex, handicap, national origin, familial status, marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Our primary goal is to transition guests from emergency, temporary housing and supportive services towards permanent housing and self-sufficiency. We continue to increase services to meet the rising demand for affordable low-income housing and to promote community involvement and support through homelessness awareness and education.
For a homeless person to receive assistance from Shelter of Hope, they must first go to CAReS in The Neighborhood. There the individual or family will be entered into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Applicants will then be placed on a prioritization list according to their assessment. There are no exceptions to this process, which helps to eliminate the duplication of services.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
