Shelter of Hope's purpose is to provide temporary emergency shelter and housing assistance for individuals and families in need of transitional services leading them to self-sufficiency. Shelter of Hope, Inc services and programs are free of discrimination because of age, race, color, creed, religion, sex, disability, national origin, familial status, marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Shelter of Hope serves households within the FIVCO community (Boyd, Carter, Greenup, Elliott, and Lawrence County) in Kentucky. Preference is given to literally homeless households, families with children, homeless veterans with or without children, adults with disabilities, and domestic violence victims unable to enter into the local Victim Service Provider. Individual cases will be evaluated upon intake for shelter and housing program assistance.

Creativity: All staff, volunteers, and service members are encouraged to ensure the participants are assisted in the best way possible to meet their needs, using a housing first, trauma informed, and person-centered approach to services.
Empathy: We understand it is difficult to be homeless, we understand it takes time and energy and effort. Additionally, we understand that homelessness is a crisis, and the individuals and families are not alone.
